Hanna Atallah

Hanna-Atallah.jpg

Hanna Atallah, is a filmmaker, producer, and cultural art manager, based between Berlin and Jerusalem. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Cinema Studies from the High Institute of Cinema in the Egyptian Academy of Arts. Empowering unheard voices has been the motor of his professional career as filmmaker, producer, and educator. With the creation of the non-profit organization Filmlab Palestine in 2014 located in Ramallah, he developed a platform to activate cinema culture and professional knowledge exchange in Palestine, that opened the door for a regional and international network for Palestinian film professionals. Atallah worked as a director, assistant director, executive producer, and producer for several local and international broadcasters in the Middle East. In addition, he has gained experience as an executive and line producer through numerous film projects (feature films and documentaries), which multiplied his expertise in filmmaking's practical, technical, and creative elements. With the increase of interest in the dynamic film production in Palestine, along with Atallah's pioneering efforts to professionalize the infrastructure of the film industry in Palestine, the establishment of the film production company "August Films" is another developmental step that underpins his competence in the realization of film projects in the region and Palestine.
